A man dissatisfied with his life goes for a walk one night, turning over the roads not taken, wondering whether getting what he always wanted could have made him happy. He wanders into a run-down movie theater called Dreamscape Theater, playing a film titled You Getting Your High School Crush. He goes in anyway. He's got nothing better to do.
What he sees on the screen stops him cold. And when he steps back outside, the theater is gone.
Night after night, a new theater appears in the city, in some new location, always at night. A new film plays. Each one shows him a life he never lived, but wished he did. He starts to wonder whether he is losing his mind.
There is one film the clerk warns him never to enter. He enters it anyway. What he witnesses inside will follow him out — and what follows him out of that theater will become far worse than any nightmare.
